In the press update references were made to Ohioans’ Declaration of Independence. The following is a copy of this statement.
OHIOANS’ DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Ohioans are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and Private Property Ownership.
Ohioans are demanding that the State legislators abide by their oath of office to support and defend the Ohio Constitution. Article 1, Section 1 of the Ohio Constitution states that “All men are, by nature, free and independent, and have certain inalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and seeking and obtaining happiness and safety.”
Private property ownership is the foundation of freedom and liberty for all Ohioans. We no longer want to be just renters from the government. Home ownership in Ohio is merely an illusion. Any tax causing a citizen to become homeless is immoral.
As our elected officials have refused to protect our inalienable property rights, We, the People of the great State of Ohio, are left with no alternative but to ourselves, secure freedom and liberty for this and future generations by abolishing Ohio’s immoral property taxes.
